Multicom disappointed Bristol overlooked but welcome Heathrow report
Travel technology specialist Multicom has expressed its disappointment that Bristol was overlooked while broadly welcoming the proposals outlined in the Heathrow report released today (1st July 2015).
The online travel software specialists would have liked to see more consideration given by the Airports Commission to the capacity available at regional airports and alternative options such as those that could have been provided in Bristol.
Multicom Chief Executive John Howell said: “I think it’s a good thing that the report produced by Sir Howard Davies makes clear its recommendations for a third runway at Heathrow.
“Personally, I think it would have made more sense to not close the runway at Filton in Bristol and to have put a second airport here next to Parkway station.
“But given they’ve done that the only choice is Heathrow as Gatwick is too hard to get to for everyone else who doesn’t live in the south.Back to other News
