Multicom Sign Monster Deal
Online travel agent (OTA) Monster.travel is the latest OTA to embrace the benefits of MultiCommerce, the latest innovation in supplier payment solutions from Multicom.
The Bristol-based travel software specialists developed the MultiCommerce system to allow agents, OTAs and tour operators alike to reduce the transaction costs and reconciliation headaches associated with supplier payments.
The use of virtual card creation and dynamic card selection within MultiCommerce ensures that the most appropriate card type is chosen per supplier for the lowest card surcharge and offers multi-currency support for both payment cards and funding account.
Detailed management information can be provided while reconciliation is easier as each card can be mapped to a specific booking. It also provides greater security and reduces the risk of fraudulent bookings as a virtual card can be used only once, for the exact amount required.
Multicom Managing Director John Howell said: “We’re delighted that Monster.travel recognise the advantages provided by MultiCommerce in managing the financial aspects of holiday bookings and are extremely happy to enhance our existing relationship with Monster.travel.
“The benefits of MultiCommerce are considerable, not least in its ability to simplify large scale refunds and cancellations in situations such as the recent French air traffic strike.”
Monster.travel Marketing Director Jodi Beard added: “When developing our online travel agent Monster.travel we had certain key elements which were of the upmost importance, one of these was our clients security, trust and ease when making a payment.
“MultiCommerce stood out to us as this was a fundamental attribute of the system. This, paired with the financial benefits of reduced transaction costs and multi–currency support made our decision easy.
“We are always looking at how we can stand out in our market and be ahead of the competition so adopting MultiCommerce aided us with this.
“We are extremely happy with the service and support that we have received from Multicom to date and look forward to working closely with them in the future to enhance our website further for users and for our internal reporting services.”
